Nationals for Flinders

The South Australian Nationals are excited to announce that Lillian Poynter will be the ationals Candidate Fighting for Flinders at the 2022 state election.

State President, Jonathan Pietzsch said, “I’m looking forward to the fight that Lillian will bring to the campaign, as a successful small business owner Lillian understands what is required to put the West Coast back on the map.”

Lillian Poynter has a strong belief in the importance of family values and maintaining the traditional way of life in regional SA, married for 31 years, with 4 adult children, she is looking to make Flinders a place that her children and grandchildren will want to stay and raise their families.

Active with the Port Lincoln Calisthenic Club for 16 years and having held positions as a committee member, secretary and now coach Lillian believes in giving back to the community that welcomed her and her husband 17 years ago when they made the move to Port Lincoln from Adelaide.

Concern over diminishing local health motivates her to fight for increased funding for regional health services, aged care services, local ambulance numbers and end of life care.

“We need to ensure that we have the healthcare options here on the West Coast, it’s a long way to Adelaide – we need to be making sure that the care required to raise a family, or to look after our elderly is provided right here.”

Lillian supports:

  • Small to medium size businesses, who provide the vast majority of jobs in Rural and Regional South Australia.

  • Improving health, education and child care services.

  • Improving infrastructure and delivery of Government services.

  • Stronger bio-security and proper control of pest animals and weeds.

If elected Lillian is committed to forfeiting a tax payer funded vehicle, “I believe it is more important to be spending money on safer, better regional roads than on perks for politicians”.
